Sewing Items: A women's sewing things usually consisted of scissor, needle, threads, thimble and case to old it all. It sometimes also contained wax to help the thread sew more easily. Manumission Papers - the papers given to a freed slave by his owner proving his freedom. An important document that needed to be kept safe.
